So, I've been told that self-promotion is relentless. If this is so, then I suppose I'm obligated to flood you with my thoughts , ideas, and projects. I don't know if this is good or bad for your health, but I cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions that may occur during my blog posts. Today I'm trying to figure out what my project is, exactly. The Kickstarter needs promotion, and so rather than write long 'TL;DR' posts on my Facebook page, I will have to trick you into entering my thought processes while visiting my blog. I have lots of good stuff buried on my website pages, so please browse around... I'd also like to update you with my Kickstarter project, but first, Big Ang. Last night was the tribute to Big Ang on The Late Night With Johnny P Show"... aand the line-up was tremendously entertaining. Of course, her husband Neil Murphy was there to talk about all of the charities with which she worked, and announced the memorial Big Dance Party for Big Ang at Snug Harbor on July 16; a lot of great acts and special guests are scheduled, so make sure you get your tickets while there's room! Johnny's co-host was Vinny Medugno, and what a cool guy he is. I had met Vinnie for the first time recently at the Staten Island St. Patrick's Day Parade. He was there with Neil Murphy, who is Ang's husband, and Steve Spinelli, who is Ang's attorney and good friends with the Raiola's as well as with my partner, John. Once an Indian, Always an Indian. Vinny has a great style, and I really enjoyed his portion of the interviews with (in order of appearance) Teresa Aprea from The Real Housewives of NJ, her husband and owner of the restaurant Ponte Vecchio, Rino Aprea, Jersey Shore's Uncle Nino, singer Carol Douglas (Doctor's Orders, a friend of Ang's who will be amongst the many performers at the Big Ang Big Dance Party), and of course, Ang's husband, Neil. The band for the evening was the fantastic Disco Unlimited. I was really impressed! What a great band! The ladies had incredible voices. During rehearsal, they sang an a capella harmony for the sound booth, and it blew me away. They are pros! It was a great show, and it should be airing in a few weeks; see JohnnyPTV.com for more details! And in case you missed the links embedded in the article above, click here for more info on Big Ang's Big Dance Party. I hope you'll be there. I know I will be! So, the Kickstarter.John and I went LIVE with our Kickstarter campaign on June 1, and thank you to all of my friends and followers who have so far backed me. Our goal is not out of reach by far, but if no one knows about it, how will they visit my page and see the awesome explainer video that I spent a tremendous amount of time making? I know the page needs tweaking, but goal #1 is to raise enough to not only create several huge, oversized pieces of wall art so that we can examine them for quality before we put them up for sale, but to help defer the costs of what we've purchased so far. We have new camera equipment, a new desktop computer amped for graphics, studio equipment such as lighting and umbrellas; lots of photo gadgets needed in our studio. Any funds raised beyond the goal will go toward paying for the photography and professional editing class I currently attend at Pace University in Manhattan. I'll be posting behind-the-scenes photos on this blog as well so that you can keep up with my project and the insanity that is my life, lol.
